This Semester, I took an I immersive education at Boston College with Professor Aaron Walsh. The course was an introduction to computer graphics and virtual reality. The course was entirely online. We met weekly on Second Life, and had various assignments to accomplish. Afterward, we would discuss our progess in Second Life. If you would like more information on Immersive education, please follow this link: http://ImmersiveEducation.org. More information on the course can be found at and http://bc.edu. I was a GREAT COURSE, and I would recommend it to anyone.
We used various different technologies to demonstrate computer graphics and virtual reality. Our main tool was Second Life. We learned monocular cues and built using blocks. We also used wonderland as a tool to communicate and show 3d graphics. A third tool we used was Google SketchUp. This tool was used for more intense 3-d designs that we were asked to create. We then uploaded our designs into google earth. This was a great learning experience.
